Delicious Ice Cream Pie

8:06 PM

Today I am showing you how to make my family's recipe and also my favorite dessert. It is an ice cream dessert that you are going to love.

Ingredients:

1 package of family sized Oreos
half a cup of milk
2 - 1.5 quarts of ice cream
Hershey's chocolate syrup
caramel sauce (optional)
8 ounce Cool Whip

(I prefer to use low fat ice cream so it is not too sweet. I also like to use mint chip and cookies & cream ice-cream flavors.  Of course, you can try different flavors.)

First, grease the bottom of your dish. We use a 4 quart oblong baking dish. However, a 3 quart (9x13) dish works, too.  Next, I spread out all the Oreos in the dish and pour a half a cup of milk over them. Crush your your softened Oreos into a paste and spread across your dish.  Place your dish into the freezer to freeze the Oreo crust for one hour.

Now you are going to want to thaw your ice cream.  (The first ice cream layer I like to put down is the mint chip.) Pull out your dish from the freezer and add your thawed ice cream.  Put it back into the freezer for another hour.

After an hour, drizzle one fourth cup of chocolate syrup (or more if you like). After the syrup, spread on your next thawed flavored ice cream and place in the freezer for another hour.

Top your dessert with Cool Whip.  Decorate your ice cream pie however you would like.  Freeze until you are ready to serve.

This dessert is so tasty and very easy.
I hope you enjoy and try it out.
